It's a common problem, up to 1 in 3 children in the UK has constipation at some point.

How to spot constipation in children?

Some signs to look out for are:

  • they don't poo regularly (less than 3 times a week)

  • they do large and difficult to pass stools

  • they do "rabbit droppings" poo

If you are worried that your baby or child might be constipated, talk to your GP or pharmacist who will be able to help advise on the best course of treatment.
